I get asked all the time what drives me to keep fighting this wretched disease we call Peripheral Artery Disease? I fight this disease daily because I have people who depend on me! I want to be around for my son and daughter! I am a single parent and I want to be here for my 13 year old son. I have one of the most caring sons anyone could ask for. My daughter has also blessed me with 7 grandkids and I want to see each and everyone of them grow up and get married. So not only am I fighting for myself I fight for them. I will continue to walk til the day I crawl into my grave. I still have aspirations of hiking the Appalachian Trail. Before being diagnosed I walk the entire Georgia section of the trail (78.2 miles) in 6 days. I know I never will be able to go that fast again but I will make it one day. I deal with pain daily but at least the pain lets me know I’m still alive to continue the fight. I want to encourage each one of y’all to share your journey with all of us. Your stories help push me. I wish nothing but success for each and every one of y’all. Tell me what motivates y’all to continue fighting?
